Carly Jo Morgan’s Canyon Style
6 years ago by
Carly Jo Morgan is a creative in the most extreme sense. I say this because it seems like she does it all. Painting, furniture design, even conceptual space design. She resides in the hills of Topanga Canyon with her adorable daughter, Cookie Jo. Together the two of them have created a tree-house home full of fun and whimsey, with snake motifs scattered throughout — a favorite of Carly Jo’s. Enjoy this peek into their lives!
What do you want people to feel when they walk into your home?
Love, warmth, inspiration, and a sense of humor.
Your daughter, Cookie Jo, seems like a mini version of you! When designing the home how much did you think about how she would interact with it? Did you design with her in mind?
She is always on my mind, so I guess yes? Although people think I’m crazy for never childproofing and leaving my staircase open like that. We never seemed to have a problem.
They’re are so many wonderful juxtapositions at play in your interior. From the turquoise walls against the wood patina, to the glass, geometric side table positioned next to the soft, rounded couch. Do you find yourself personally drawn to juxtapositions?
Yes I am. I’m a Gemini. So it’s all about the Yin and Yang.
Heavenly!

I love it!
Great post, thanks!
Je reviens de Californie, j’ai adoré Topanga !
Et cette maison est juste terrible, je reconnais les couleurs, la luminosité particulière de l’endroit, c’est très beau à voir !
So refreshing to see such a cozy, handmade space! Bravo Carly!
