Last week at the Studio we were all sitting around talking about our first memories of fashion week. Garance thought it would be fun for you to hear about some of those moments that you only live once… here it goes!

I spent many years dreaming of what it would be like to walk into the Bryant Park tents and attend a real New York fashion show. Living in Minnesota, I felt like that dream was light-years away. To be surrounded by beautiful clothes, beautiful people and beautiful…

We love this rock ‘n’ roll take on the traditional cameo by Wilfredo Rosado.
It’s kind of a badass ring, don’t you think?

The lips at the Phillip Lim show included one very interesting element: eyeliner.
Artists filled lips in completely with a lip liner (NARS Kenya Lip Liner Pencil) and followed it up with a light layer of brown eyeliner pencil (NARS Eyeliner in Mambo) which created a rich burgundy-brown mouth.
It’s a great way to update your everyday red lip and make it a little edgier. It’s also perfect for “the uptown girl with a downtown rocker boyfriend.” ;)

Remember the hat Lauren was wearing here? Cool right?
Here is another one from the same designer, Wax & Cruz. We love the quirky pattern and leather brim!

How does one make a giant down coat look chic? This is the question I asked myself as I stood in my mirror this morning, getting ready to step outside and conquer the snowy New York streets.

I’m a big fan of the d’Orsay flat. They are simple, chic and I think the cut makes them sexy (yes that’s right, sexy flats!). I spotted these at the Jenni Kayne presentation yesterday…
If there wasn’t a blizzard happening right now, I’d want them on my feet!
(Bonus: she makes them in about a bajillion different colors!)

For a little while now, I’ve started to do some online shopping and I have to confess, I love it.
The only thing is, outside of the classics, like Net-a-Porter, I don’t really know where to go to find the best selection…
I’d like to find little boutiques with paired down choices and mix of lesser known brands alongside the classics.
Are you an e-shopper? What are some of your favorites?

When I heard about The Carrie Diaries, the prequel to Sex & the City (one of the best TV shows of all time), I didn’t pay it much attention.
With an actress too “cute” to be Carrie, too permed to be realistic, and the 80s looking like they came straight out of Forever 21 – and then there’s the obvious: Do I really want to watch a TV show that talks about a bunch of teenagers?
But out of love and respect for Candace Bushnell (author and producer), I kept watching.
And you know…
