Bon, je suis dègue. Mon pantalon en cuir s’est mis à couiner.
Oui, parfaitement. Tout allait bien, je le portais depuis des mois, et là, tout à coup, c’est comme si j’avais une petite souris dans ma poche qui se manifestait à chaque pas.
Vous connaissez l’épisode de Seinfeld dans lequel George veut ABSOLUMENT un costume soldé, sauf qu’il réalise qu’il fait un affreux chuintement au moindre pas ? Voilà, c’est à peu près ça, et je ne suis peut-être pas aussi névrosée que George, mais quand on commence à faire une fixette sur un bruit qui attire l’attention des gens, il y a de quoi devenir barje…
Est-ce que c’est les coutures qui se défont ? Le cuir qui s’est détendu et mes jambes qui frottent l’une contre l’autre ? Ou peut-être que je pète un câble parce que je ne trouve pas d’explication ?
Ça vous est déjà arrivé ? Au fait, il est hors de question que j’arrête de mettre ce pantalon ! Si je n’arrive pas à résoudre mon problème, je me ferai au couinement, tant pis.

Oh, c’est moche ;( le mien couine depuis le début, le mieux c’est lorsqu’on s’assied sur un fauteuil en faux cuir. l’horreur, en plus du fait que ça ne glisse pas et que se lever lui fait émettre un son de pet (si si) Je n’ai toujours pas trouvé de solution! C’est étrange que ça soit « apparu », ça pourrait être en lien avec le froid, la lessive ou n’importe quoi :p

Sorry, but have you put on any weight? That would make them start to squeak when they didn’t before.
But leather does do this. The funniest scene (for me) in the film Puss in Boots is when Humpty Dumpty (yep, the egg) starts running in his gold leather catsuit (eggsuit?) and the soundtrack goes squeeeaaak! squeeeeaaak! squeeeeak!
I don’t think I have anything that makes a noise — but I know what you mean!

This is why I don’t like leather pants. Leather jackets/ bags/ shoes are just enough for me.
My leather pants are well behaved in this department but some of my shoes do that to me. Still, I love them too much to stop wearing them!

Ton cuir a peut-être la peau sèche qui tiraille ; essaie de lui mettre de la crème ? (je sais qu’il faut entretenir tous nos cuirs avec des crèmes spéciales, peut-être que c’est ta solution…)
Brie, I had a pair of navy patent Roger Vivier flats that squeaked like mad for a while. Too beautiful not to wear. I gritted my teeth and hoped it would stop. And it did, eventually. After I was mocked by my co-workers for a while.
Your squeak will probably stretch away eventually. Hang in! :-)

Il couine parce que deux morceaux de cuire se frotte. Quelque part sur le pantalon une couture se élargie peut-être et les deux morceaux commence à se toucher. Dans les années 1930 ou 1940 il y avait une mode en Europe aux chaussures des hommes, quand ils marchaient ils couinaient; c’été à cause de leur fabrication ils doubler la peau en avant dans la zone d’orteils et quand les deux morceaux de peau se frottaient en marchant, elles couinent.

Thus has happened to my leather jacket! I didn’t wear it for a whole year because of the squeaky sound! I did some research, however, and found that it just means the leather is a bit dry… So you can take your pants to a trusted shoe repair and ask him to oil them up, like I did, or you can shop around online for some leather oils. Good luck!

Yep! Mine do too . I have a faux leather pair fom Zara and they squeak at the inner thighs. I heard oiling them might work, but I haven’t tried it yet.
Oh dear, Brie – very unfortunate indeed, and completely understandable.
I have a pair of gorgeous boots that began squealing (rather than squeaking) like a balloon reluctantly expiring out of its pinched mouth, eight days (yes, I counted) after I bought them (that’s right, silent as a mouse while in the shop, and then once purchased…). They are slowly sorting themselves out, so maybe more wear and they (and your leather pants) should soon be silent?
Depending on the leather, oiling them may or may not work… sometimes, its the oil on them that make them squeak. Just squeak away for a month of regular wear. If it doesn’t hush those pants up, then try some oil/special conditioning lotion on them.
Good luck with them, and I hope they stop making noises soon.

I use mink oil in my leather pants. I apply it with a cloth (it’s waxy) and the sounds will disappear. If leather squeaks, it is dry and needs moisture. I. Apply it in very small amounts and if I wear them daily, it lasts about three weeks until I need to re-apply over the winter.
