Three Looks with Christine Nicholson
3 years ago by
We found Christine Nicholson on Instagram — where we stalk all the cute ladies :) We loved her work as a stylist as well as her own outfits peppered throughout her feed. What better way to showcase her than with a Three Looks in her neighborhood of Bed Stuy! Enjoy!
How would you describe your style in three words?
My style is smart, functional and feminine
How has your style changed over this past year of quarantine? What are you most looking forward to wearing post quarantine?
Over the past year my style has changed drastically. Typically, I’m wearing a uniform composed of a straight leg jean or well tailored trouser, t-shirt or shirt, and a jacket or blazer. Now I wear what feels most comfortable to me. Sometimes that means a sweat suit. Post pandemic I look forward to dressing up more and bringing heels back into my wardrobe.
What designers get you most excited about the future of fashion right now?
Currently, I’m excited by Nigerian designer Abiola Olusola and Daniel Roseberry at Schiaparelli..
When were you first interested in style and fashion?
My interest in fashion stemmed from growing up in Brooklyn during the 90s. It was one of the golden eras of music and style. Growing up in Brooklyn at that time meant you always had to be « fly » when you stepped out. My sensibility and interest in fashion started there.
Who are some style icon in your life and why?
My late Grandmother Monica Bovell was my style icon. Her style was very feminine and true to her South American/Caribbean heritage. The way she kept herself while fervently showing up for her family left a huge impression upon me about what womanhood should look like.
