Ça y est ! J’ai trouvé mes escarpins parfaits !!! Ils sont pointus comme il faut, légèrement échancrés sur les orteils et j’adore leur talon tout droit. Je me sens Emmanuelle Alt rien qu’en les regardant.
Bon, le seul truc… C’est qu’ils sont hyper hauts. Certainement entre 10 et 12cm de talons. Je suis allée faire un tour chez Prada, d’où viennent ces petites merveilles, et ils ont une version à 8cm, hyper jolie aussi. Peut-être légèrement moins glamour & sexy, mais d’autant plus marchables.
Alors, qu’est ce que vous en pensez ?
Vaut-il mieux choisir l’option confort ou se dire que quand on choisit des stilettos, on n’a pas le droit d’avoir froid au yeux ?

Combien de mètres peut-on dignement parcourir avec des stilettos de 12 cm? Je n’en ai aucune idée.
D’après les conseils de mon osthéopates, je pèche déjà quand je mets plus de 3 cm de talon. Il faut alors bien rentrer les abdominaux pour tenir le bas du dos en position renforcée, ce qui est un très bon exercice en soi, alors je me permets de pécher… :)

Pour moi ça doit être haut ET portable tous les jours! Perso c’est les Pigalle vernies qui me faisaient de l’oeil… mais en 12 elles sont impraticables, j’ai opté pour les 10 où je peux trotter sans crainte ;) 8 je trouve ça un peu trop peu, mais tu pourras les porter plus que des 12! C’est une paire que classique et basique, autant opter pour du pratique aussi!

personally, i find that anything higher than 3.5 is semi unwearable. a black pump is supposed to follow you throughout life, your staple to throw on for the perfect sexiness or perfect comfortable chic. realistically, you’ll want a shoe you will wear and regret not getting the more wearable pair once you realize you never want to wear your perfect black pump :{ so go for the shorter ones! the high arch will still look sexy when you cram yo feet into a pair that are too tall to wear for more than a seated evening out.

Oh I love those and wait to see how you style them. For me there are two types of the perfect black pump. The beautiful pair you bought, I would reserve for events, and parties, where I don’t have to do a ton of walking or being on my feet. I’ve got that pair and they really aren’t as bad as they seem. To be honest of all the super tall shoes I own Prada is the most comfortable. I’d go with the taller pair. Super sexy and sleek.

Pourquoi choisir?
Les deux c’est évidant, les 8 pour quand t’as envie et les 10 12 pour, quand t’as besoin d’une paire trop classe et que tes 8 on une tellement sale tronche.
Pourquoi choisir?
Je ne peux pas concevoir acheter des escarpins et ne pas les mettre, qu’ils soient discrets ou pas (je travaille dans la banque…. pas vraiment le temple de l’excentricité). J’ai des bottines Sergio Rossi avec une fermeture éclair doré qui part du bout du talon aiguillle et qui remonte jusqu’à la cheville… Un jour quelqu’un m’a demandé si je les portais uniquement à la maison, je crois qu’il ne s’en est pas remis quand je lui ai dit que j’allais au bureau avec.
.. Le concept de l’escarpin qu’on porte uniquement chez soi ou si on va diner (parce qu’on reste assis) et en taxi (parce qu’on ne marche pas)… Mon dieu c’est so boring
En tout cas ça laisse pas beaucoup de place à l’improvisation. Et ça c’est pas glamour !
les deux sont nécessaires, un classique pareil! Cependant, si je devais choisir (étant donné que l’argent ne pousse pas encore sur les arbres) j’opterais pour la paire plus petite car 8cm c’est déjà relativement haut, donc cela met suffisamment en valeur!

Vous savez, c’est curieux mais il y a 15 ou 20 ans 8 centimètres se considérait déjà un talon très haut, mais es talons (et les plates-formes) n’est cessé de croître!
Si j’étais une femme je crois que je choisirais celles de 8cm pour pouvoir les porter plus souvent, d’autre part que personnellement je trouve que le talon moins haut est très chic, plus « lady » et moins « vamp ».
Cela dit je les ai vu chez Prada et elles sont magnifiques!

A mon avis, le meilleur choix est de prendre les 12! Cela donne une telle allure! Alors oui je pars toujours de ce principe et je le regrette parfois quand je me surprends à rêver de fauteuil roulant au bout de 4h passées debout sur mes échasses, mais vraiment les compliments que l’on reçoit en retour + l’image de nos jambes renvoyée par les miroirs, vitrines et autres rétroviseurs (oui j’ai beaucoup de mal à ne pas checker mes pieds 3 fois par seconde quand je porte de belles chaussures…) font vite oublier la torture :)

Moi je dis que tu as bien fait de choisir les 12 cm parce qu’ils sont tellement beaux que tu les mettras pour des occasions particulières donc on sort le glamour et le sexy, et puis les 12 cm font tellement une jolie cambrure du pied… Des escarpins pour moi ce ne sont pas des chaussures de tous les jours qu’on met pour gambader 5kms, mais des petits bijoux que l’on sort à des occasions spéciales.. tres bon choix!

12 cm c’est impossible à gérer toute la journée sans douleur ni ridicule, et pas toujours joli (en tout cas pas plus que les 8 cm).
Dans les deux cas j’espère pour toi que tu as des abdos très musclés ou un chauffeur qui te suit à la trace si tu as l’intention de gambader beaucoup. Personnellement, sur 6, 8 ou 10 cm j’ai envie de mourir au-delà d’une heure de marche mise bout à bout.

Avec 12cm, comme le disaient les autres commentaires, on fait sa belle pendant 5 minutes, et après on a l’air ridicule le reste de la soirée/journée… tant on a mal au dos / pieds…
Cette paire est tellement belle, épurée, qu’elle mérite d’être portée toute une journée : go for the 8cm !

I say to go for the higher of the two. In a point toe, or pretty much any toe, I always try to elongate my legs as much as possible and the higher heel will give you better posture too. Do it, they’re beautiful.

Spend a morning watching women (trying) to walk around town in very high heels. It is rarely pretty. The 8cm heels are as high as you need for a sexy elongated leg. The 12cm look best in still photography.

L’option « ballerines dans le sac » peut permettre de se rassurer sur sa capacité à tenir. En général, les regards sur vos chaussures et vos jambes toutes fines vous feront rester sur vos 12 cm…Pour moi, en dessous de 8 cm, impossible à part la chaussure de sport.
Ces escarpins sont magnifiques, beaux, élégants, sexy. Ils doivent faire un décolleté au niveau du pied très glamour…

I think it’s very simple… will you really use this ones?? They must be expensive, so you should think if you will really use them or if you will be so uncomfortable that in the end you will always choose others from your closet. The 8cm are probably less glamorous, but you will use them happily and comfortably and probably in more ocassions than the higher ones.
I would go for the 8 cm version, because, as I noticed, they do not have a platform and I just cant walk on that high platformless heels. However, if you can manage it, then keep them, they are really cool!
Buy what you will wear. Sure, they’re great as an art/fashion object to look at, but better to be worn for day-long, nighttime joy.

I always go for the comfiest shoes. High heels are definitely prettier & atract us. But, at the end of the day I prefer to look after my feet instead of wear the coolest shoes. Yes, I know pretty rational boring reasoning. But, I’m pretty my feet’s health will be a lot better in the future. And, there’re tons of pretty cool flats, beauty & comfort go well together.

Well, it is not about how high hells are but how you feel wearing them. It would be a complete nightmare if you are not comfortable with them. Pleople often think that high hells are a torture but when you find a great pair, perfectly made and absolutely comfy, you just can’t resist, even the height. Tout dépend pour quoi… J’ai l’impression que les 12 (m’étonnerais que ce soit 10) c’est ce que tu cherchais, ça ne fait pas le même effet … Mais en avoir de 8 cm EN PLUS me paraît indispensable pour de longues stations debout! I would choose 8cm..it’s still a very good and sexy heel height and prob much more comfortable. Personally, if I buy a pair of shoes and they are not comfortable I end up not wearing them..and they are Prada! you have to wear them! Plus, they are beautiful :)
go for the 8cm – you’ll HAPPILY wear them forever. Looking sexy is less important than FEELING sexy, and the 2cm extra hurts your feet and you will be miserable at a party instead of staying and enjoying yourself – you will want to leave early because your feet hurt!

So I would try them on and see: if the 8 cm look great (as I suspect) don’t hesitate!
Otherwise, make sure you’re comfortable enough with the 12: I find it so unglamourous not to be able to wear your own shoes.

For me, 10c would be doable, 12 impossible. 4″ is as high as I can go and still walk around and that’s kind of pushing it. So if’ it’s between 10-12c I would have go with the 8. That being said, those shoes made all the little neurons in my brain fire all at once! Can’t wait to hear which one’s you go for!

If they are going to be primarily for a nice dinner or meeting up with friends, etc. go for the taller ones.

Plus c’est haut plus c’est beau. Ca fait des jambes interminables.
En ce qui me concerne, j’ai une paire de Stiletto noire pour l’hiver, un super model de chez PARALLELE avec une jolie découpe sur le dessus et 8 cm de talon et pour l’été, un petit modèle de chez FERRAGAMO avec 10cm de talons. Franchement on s’habitue aux 10 cm, le principal c’est le chaussant et la découpe. Il faut essayer et tu verras. Parfois on est plus à l’aise sur du 10cm que du 8cm.
La solution: les ballerines ultra souple (à avoir à tout prix, surtout mini, chez h&m, bien sur en tissu pas en plastique horrible!) dans le mini sac et plus de soucis d’hauteur de talon.

MAIS j’ai la solution je pense, du moins je l’ai grâce à Carine Roitfeld, la reine du stilleto. J’ai lu dans une interview que pour plus de confort, elle coupait le talon de ses super-escarpins d’un demi centimètre. I’d get the lower heels. I tend to ask myself truthfully how often I’d wear the super high heel ones, and answer is almost NEVER, except for 2-3 hours tops. good luck deciding!

Je suis très très (trop ?) fans des chaussures à talons superrr haut. Le genre de chaussure que je ne porte qu’une fois…. Alors j’ai trouvé une astuce pour les petites joueuses : les talons de 10 (et plus) pour les compensées, et les talons de moins de 10 pour le reste…. Ces chaussures sont PARFAITES Garance !

Les femmes n’ont pas à être réduites au rang d’objet sexuel ou décoratif. La femme active et moderne depuis gabrielle chanel sait être élégante, sexy tout en rejetant les entraves. Ne laissons pas des fantasmes véhiculés par l’industrie de la mode nous enfermer.
Et puis tout dépend de toi, de à quel point tu te sens confortable avec les talons hauts. Certaines femmes marchent très facilement avec du 12 cm, pour d’autres 8 cm c’est encore trop haut. Rien de pire qu’une femme qui ne sait pas marcher avec ses talons. Il est plus gracieux de marcher droit à plat plutôt que de se tordre les chevilles sur du hauts. Toutes les femmes ne sont pas égales.
Je pense qu’il faut savoir avec quelle hauteur tu es le plus confortable. C’est donc complétement personnel. Il me semble que 8 cm est une hauteur tout à fait respectable. Les femmes portant des talons aiguilles vraiment trop hauts ont souvent une allure à la fois agressive et oisive ( que peut on faire de sa journée sur du 15 cm? ); et me font vraiment pitié. L’allure ne se réduit pas à une question de centimètres.
Ps: cette paire d’escarpins que tu as choisi chez Prada est très jolie , classiques et sexy, et pas agressive. Cette un basique de garde robe.

Last year I sold all my 10cm high heels on ebay. Now my closet contains only wonderful shoes I really wear and love.
So better go for the 8cm ones. They still look great. You can wear them more often, you will not have any painful associations when looking at them. In your job feeling comfy is important. Your feet, your knees and your back will say « thanks ». Believe me!

you can go to a shoemaker and have him take of 1-1,5 cm of the heel depending on the structure of the shoe. I’ve had it done with success a couple of times as my preference is 9,5 cm. its the difference between being able to run in your high heels or only being able to stand in them ;)

As a boy, I don’t actually wear heels – so take this with a grain of salt – but I say: go with the high ones! They are utterly perfect.

Moi qui suis une fervente adepte du « plus c’est haut, plus c’est beau », j’ai pourtant cédé au confort en achetant mes premières Louboutin. Je les avais rêvées depuis si longtemps que ce samedi après-midi, en essayant les Pigalle Jazz (cuir noir à peine verni) 120 (=12 cm), j’étais aux anges (comprendre, 12 cm plus près du ciel!!).
Retour à la maison, et là je commence à les essayer avec plusieurs jeans, jupes, etc… Au bout de 15 minutes, douleurs dans les genoux, signe que je me suis un peu emballée sur la hauteur.
Le mardi, retour à la boutique après le travail, échange pour les Pigalle Plato 120 (donc toujours 12 cm, mais plato = plateau de 2 cm, me revoilà donc à ma hauteur « naturelle » de 10 cm). Mes genoux me disent merci…
Quand j’avais acheté les Pigalle Jazz, la vendeuse m’avais glissé un « Can you walk in these? I can’t even stand! They are the most uncomfortable shoes we have, they are « taxi-destination » shoes »… Ca aurait du me mettre la puce à l’oreille.
Donc, en conclusion, on doit parfois s’accorder le luxe de sacrifier la mode pour le confort. C’est pas ton pantalon de yoga qui nous dira le contraire, Garance!!! ; )
J’ai l’impression que les 8cm gagnent et ça me fait bien plaisir !! C’est largement suffisant, en cambrure, et c’est bien mieux pour le dos et les pieds ! Et j’ajoute que c’est plus chic, moins « voyant » et connoté que le 10-12cm…

I would go for comfy one, because I like mobility and ability to move, even on an event prefer enjoy the party and not search for a place to seat, due to pain which is killing me… Maybe I’m just too lazy… Try them both and see in which one you feel better yourself.

Get the 8s. They will still look amazing and you will have so much more comfort and therefore confidence which = sexy! No one was meant to walk around in the higher ones, really. They are for socialites and limo riders, not real women who do things. I have a closet full of higher heels that I never wear. I am now 58 years old, with a bunion on one foot and a bad back. But you will never know it because I will not give up my heels. I just look for ones no higher than 3 inches. And I also wear platforms, which are also more comfortable. I am always searching for the elusive perfect pump or sandal, and I can guarantee you that your perfect 12 cm pump will not feel perfect to you after you wear them the first time. And that will be SO disappointing. But hey, you can always use them in the bedroom!
Oh, and if your bank account can handle it, get both!

Depends on what you can tolerate. I think I would want to cry on 10 inch heels all night long. Well, discomfort is not sexy! But if you can handle them go for the highest. If not , you would like much sexier with the 8 inch, when you can walk with confidence and not thinking about your feet the whole time :)

I’ve been thinking about this for years (among many more important things, I promise!) and I actually think the 8cm heel is sexier. There’s something about how it looks with skinny, ankle length pants especially that is just…hot. Much better than the overt. But…I know that dresses require the highest heel one can tolerate or flats. Middle ground is Michelle Obama, who looks absolutely gorgeous but neither you not I are her! Go for the 8cm, you know, to start with:)

In my past life (meaning last year), I would have chosen the super high heels. Now, I have to go more moderate, because the balls of my feet hurt when I wear my really high heels now. I don’t have enough padding on my body, which is a blessing and curse.
With that said, you should go with what you love. You obviously chose those for a reason. Don’t overthink it. Go with your gut.

if i could wear high heels and look elegant walking in them..i’d definately go for the highest. but..i have seen far too many women wearing high heels who look ridiculous because they can’t walk the walk in high heels. they teeter along, looking uncomfortable along with poor posture as they try to battle gravity and sore feet.
From someone that loves fashion (and associated with retail all my career) and now of a certain age, the 8cm is high enough!!
You will end up with such ‘bad feet’ later on in life, legs & your back, that it will become so painful your won’t be able to walk!!! and your look certainly will not be a sexy one!!!

These are fashion-victim high! Why bother struggling in them? And watch out, because that really straight profile makes them even more impossible to walk in. One recent evening I saw a young woman fall forward on her face TWICE because she could not walk properly in her very high heels. Twice. Very sexy.
The 8cm is still very chic, because the shoe is so well designed. If there is a shorter heel that still looks this good, always go the shorter. Your feet and back will thank you for it…XX

I have to tell you I am very, very skeptical about those heels: I find the heel that starts from/aligns with the far end of the shoe ( and not in the middle of where the foot heel is supposed to be) very tiring and eventually damaging for the foot/leg/waist.
so, if you insist on having them, I would say, there is one more reason to go for the 8 cm one…

If you are going to be running around a lot in them, and wearing them all the time then go for the 8cm.. i don’t necessary think that lower is less sexy… in the photo of Emmanuelle before she was in a lower heeled pump, and still looked sexy… understated sexy! :) Would love to see you in either!
I have found that the criteria are 1. can I bend my foot as I walk? otherwise one loses not just comfort but elegance. 2. how are they balanced? even quite low shoes can be agonising if they tip one forward onto the ball of one’s feet & quite high shoes are comfortable if one’s weight is evenly distributed between heel & ball of foot.
Walk in each for as long as possible before you commit, people will stare but it matters more to get it right.
8cm is high enough to be glamorous but still more practical than they look; a tortured looking foot is ugly and painful. Let us know what you choose please
Decide what you want to use them for (mainly).
If you want a glam pair for dinner Saturday night, the Opera, cocktail bars or any other special event… then go high.
If you want a (nearly as) glam pair for use every day, like lunch with the girls, Tuesday night dinner, a gallery opening where you’ll be doing a lot of standing and walking… then go lower.
The main thing is you must still be able to LOOK comfortable (even though you might not be) and walk naturally in the high ones, nothing is less sexy than not being able to walk with pride and ease in your heels.
Look at Emmanuelle Alt, I’ve never seen her in a stupidly high heel, yet she always looks so effortless, so chic, so cool… I think I just argued my way into going for the lower heel!

Just remember the trick with stretching up while wearing the heels ;) My foot is too short for 12 cm heels! (Italian size 37) So for me the 8 cm is still high and sexy ;) If you can reach up (and a bit out) of the heels – you can wear them ;)

Par expérience, prend les talons de 8, qui sont déjà d’une belle hauteur, car le but c’est quand même de pouvoir marcher avec !
Nous venons d’avoir un débat court mais intense sur lequel il nous a été impossible de nous mettre d’accord.
Marie, qui ne peut se vanter que de 8cm en talon maximum y trouve déjà son compte en matière d’acrobatie et d’élégance, monter plus haut sur des talons aussi fins lui semble hors de porté.
Ana, plus aventureuse par le passé, se dit que tant qu’à choisir de sublime Prada, autant miser directement sur les 12cm. A condition de savoir marcher avec, et d’avoir des ballerines dans son sac.

I’d say go with the high sexy pair. If it’s the ball of your foot that’s uncomfortable, then I’d suggest Stiletto Hardware ball of foot cushion. I have them in about 5 pairs of my heels & they work miracles.

those emanuelle-ones seem to be « just » 8cm, too and it looks absolutely glamorous, so in my opinion you should choose these 8cm-ones for more comfort AND glamour.
I think it depends on how comfortable you are in a super high heel. As lovely as high heels are, I always think it super unattractive when a woman is wearing heels that she clearly can’t walk in.
Alts’ pumps don’t seem to be so high…try sth btw 8 and 9cm (only 1cm makes the difference…I have them cut whenever possible)…you’ll feel comfortalbe and pretty glamorous…
Do you want to wear them during the daytime? Or, just in the evening?
It might be more practical, instead of more glam, but I would choose the 80mm ones—there’s something said for being able to walk in the city!

Go High! I teach kindergarten so ballet flats are an everyday thing. If you are running around taking photos your probably going to be happier in your Church flats. But there is nothing better an slipping on a pair of super high heels for a night out. Sometimes it makes me feel like I have a secret (glamorous) life. I’m 5’10 » with size 40 feet and a smaller heel just doesn’t balance things out. A 8cm heel looks different on someone 5’6″ than 5’10 ». My extra height needs MORE height (you get a better view of the party from up there – wink)! xo

I think, the higher heels are very sexy, but when you can be your most comfortable you, you can allow yourself to be your most sexiest you. Either shoe is amazing, go with what FEELS good!
I don’t think it’s always about the height. There is some secret way to make 12cm heels comfy like heaven and there is another secret way to make ballerinas make my feet hurt.

I am a sucker for things that I love so if you love love love those shoes and if you can afford it buy both versions of them. ( I have done this!)
I love high heels but they got me waist problems so I made a « pact » with the doctor to wear them only once a week. So, my advice would be to wear the high ones and be glamorous in special occasions, but also have a back up plan with the less high (but still considerably tall and equally stylish) 8 cm heel pumps .

I say get both. If they are really beautifully crafted heels it would be good to have two pairs. One for when you want to be daring, sexy, and sleek and one thats a little shorter for when you want to tone it down.

Follow your French side!! Definitely the 8 inch because you can wear them with EVERYTHING and look fabulous and still be able to walk. What is the point of having beautiful shoes if you have to sit down and hide them under the table most of the time? I also think that in some cases the very pointy very high might be a « Pretty Woman » moment and NOT in a good way!!

Amusant: j’ai acheté ces escarpins hier en 35 avec le talon de 8, en 5 mn sans la moindre hésitation tellement ils sont PARFAITS. Je ne les trouve pas moins sexy en 8 (bon, je fais 1m60 ce qui explique probablement cela) car c’est la combinaison décolleté, finesse du talon et bout pointu qui est très réussie. Avec le talon de 8 on peut marcher ce qui est tout de même vraiment bien utile :-)))))
A mon avis le bout très pointu est déjà une source d’inconfort potentiel (et majeur) sans en rajouter avec une hauteur impossible et avec le 8 le sexy reste subtil …
Mon com est inutile: je croyais répondre à un post d’aujourd’hui étant donné que 29 aout s’affiche au dessus de la photo et je réalise que les commentaires datent de février :-)))

I also think they are PERFECT. – Depends on ones age and profession: If you are under 40 and you work in a fashion-affine business, go for the high ones. If you are over 40, you have to take the more convenient ones, unfortunately, in order to prevent illness of your older knees and feet… (I am 47.)

je recherche en fait ce type d’escarpins, échancrés, décolletés sur le pied, talons droits (le talon change tout) j’en ai trouvé plusieurs un peu échancré mais le talon ne passe pas!
