Voici l’idée la plus pratique qu’on ait vue depuis longtemps. Porter un bonnet sous un chapeau pour avoir bien chaud, c’est à la fois très esthétique et hyper malin…
Moi, je suis carrément nulle quand il s’agit de m’habiller en fonction de la météo ; en général je sous-estime les conditions climatiques et finis par mourir de froid sur le trottoir sans chaussettes ni écharpe. Il faut vraiment que je check mon appli météo plus souvent…
Vous en avez, vous, des astuces style pour l’hiver ?

Brie est juste magnifique, et son idée est vraiment très ingénieuse! Je n’ai pas vraiment de trucs style pour l’hiver, je trouve qu’au contraire, le froid nous « déstyle » souvent. Quand j’étais à NY j’avais un manteau sur ma doudoune, je ne ressemblais à rien à part un personnage échappé de 1, rue Sésame…

Well, I live in Edmonton, Alberta, a seven-hour drive north of the US border. It’c pretty cold here in the winter; we just laugh when we see pictures of people in New York going bare legged to winter parties. As we speak, – 27 Celcius. My best tip for staying warm: Really good boots (thank you Stuart Wietzman) and cashmere, cashmere, cashmere anything. Coat, socks, hats whatever. It’s a bit of an investment sometimes but is sure pays off. This winter I »m staying cozy with my purple Eric Bompard scarf I bought on a trip to Paris last month. Happy Holidays, everyone.
Un body bien chaud dans un mélange coton et laine. Cela forme une vraie controverse entre mes amies. Celles qui le portent (dont moi) celles qui détestent (et qui redoutent la position de crabe à chaque visite des toilettes, c’est vrai qu’il y a plus pratique) mais moi je trouve cela ultra confortable. On évite les fuites vestimentaires, genre: je saute sur mon vélo – fille sportive que je suis – et soudainement j’ai le dos à l’air parce que j’ai décidé de mettre une petite doudoune bien chaude mais minuscule…mais surtout je trouve celà très chic pour l’hiver.
Brie est superbe, les yeux de biche, quelle beauté.
Superbe astuce, une découverte pour moi, j’y penserai :)

I usually wear a small grey wool cape – it is more like a large round scarf – under my topcoat. It really helps to keep me warm and it gives a classy twist!

I despise socks at any time of year and have found fleece-lined shoes and boots to be the answer. I also prefer hand warmers to gloves so my fingers are free (ideal when walking Petey–it’s impossible to open a poopie bag with gloves on!) And I’ll wear a silk scarf cose to my neck with a heavier one over it. And when it’s super cold outside, Unqlo’s thin heat-tech layers are toasty warm.

What works for me to keep warm – but which sometimes gets a bit in the way of style – is to make sure the wind can’t get into any of my clothing. Which means: long socks, high wrapped up scarf, a tanktop underneath my outfit tucked into my trousers and long fingerless gloves over my leather gloves to keep the cold from going up my sleeves.

I buy boots one size too big so that I can wear a pair of wool socks with them – and sometime a lamb’s wool insoles as well. Otherwise I just end up walking around with freezing cold feet from November til March.

I’m in love with merino wool. I hate cold weather, but a pair of wool socks and tights does wonders for my attitude. I also could not deal with Chicago weather without my super techy wind stopping jacket. It’s very boring style-wise, but I wear it under a pretty coat, and no one is the wiser! That’s my Midwest secret: stealth layering.
Mon meilleur ami est le heattech de Uniqlo : simple, pas cher et très efficace + le beanie en cachemire + un col en fourrure hérité de ma mamie.
Un top en laine et soie (ceux avec un peu de dentelle aux poignets et sur le décolleté) de chez MONOPRIX (enplus ils sont Made in france), ça sous un pull en cashemere! Ils font aussi des body qui sont super chaud.

Le body + le TS heattech uniqlo + chemise + pull + manteau + écharpe + bonnet ++++ bon après ça impossible de rejouer la scène de 9 semaines 1/2 dans les escaliers ! Mais bon lorsque ça ne dure qu’en petit moment dans l’année, le froid, ça peut-être marrant, ça nous oblige a être créative dans les contraintes.

What a cool idea! Wanna try that tomorrow! At the moment we got some pretty amazing weather here in Switzerland, it’s almost constantly sunny but freezing cold, I love that, only down side, we really need some more snow to go skiing and snowboarding! Warm shoes and the right coat are my key essentials to stay warm. I have a thin but very warm coat from Patagonia, the ultralight one. It’s very warm and looks chic at the same time. And my shoes are from UGG, but not the huge « Yeti boots », the other ones that have a good profile and are water proof. Here in Switzerland everybody is wearing them. Other essentials are Cashmere knits, scarfs and beanies, hmm and these little bags you can shake and then they heat up, hehe, my secret trick ;-) xxx

Oo I love this idea! It looks cool and looks extra warm and it’s one of those styling tricks where you end up thinking, why didn’t I think of that?! One of my tricks (though probably done by a lot of ladies) is to wear leggings under my loose summer trousers, that are made of lighter materials.

Love this photo of this beautiful stylish girl! I´m a hat person but still looking for the perfect hat! I´m 46 years old and one of my favorites are- wearing a six-pence. I start wearing them here in the fall in southern Norway. I find them practical because it rains or snows here most of the year. Of course they are menswear- Ralph Lauren or Henry Cottons. They are my staple wear and even though a six-pence keeps me nice, warm and dry- I also feel cool wearing them!!
Moi j’ai une astuce anti froid. Attention c’est du lourd : un Damart :-) Pas sexy, mais caché sous un joli pull en cachemire, ça passe… Et surtout ça fonctionne. Super l’idée du bonnet sous le chapeau.
Le bonnet sous le chapeau, j’avais vu ca en bolivie et au Pérou. Tous les hommes font ca là bas. La différence c’est que leurs bonnets sont colorés et recouvrent les oreilles, ce qui donne encore plus de style.
J’ai testé le bonnet péruvien en dessous du chapeau péruvien sous nos latitudes, et je dois dire que ca ne passe pas inaperçu. Il faut être au top le matin pour affronter autant de regards!

Je n’y crois pas trop au bonnet sous chapeau, je trouve ce mélange pas très heureux. Je fais l’oignon pendant les périodes de froid, il est difficile de ne pas tomber malade avec l’alternance chaud/froid polaire quand on rentre et sort.

Etant du sud, même s’il fait froid, ça n’est jamais le pole nord donc pas d’astuces anti-froid pour moi.
A chaque saison je retarde le changement de tenue… lorsque l’été revient, je garde mon bonnet jusqu’à ce qu’il fasse 20ºC et l’hiver, c’est l’inverse, j’évite de mettre trop de couches tout de suite. Tout ça pour dire que le bonnet sous le chapeau est une chose que je voulais tester avant ce poste et qui me donne plus envie maintenant que je le vois.

Pas bêêêête!!!! Moi qui ai une petite tête et qui passe mon temps à « rétrécir » mes chapeaux… Voilà une idée qu’elle est bonne…
J’habite en Belgique, pays très humide. Pour moi le pire c’est vraiment l’humidité, plus que le froid, et quand je suis arrivée j’ai direct eu froid aux pieds. J’ai vite compris pourquoi les filles ici ne juraient que par les bottes/boots. (D’ailleurs c’est normal ici d’avoir 10-20 paires de bottes/boots différentes, c’est la shoes essentielle). Une des astuces pour avoir encore plus chaud c’est bien sûr les chaussettes, on peut aussi jouer en les faisant dépasser.
Sinon l’astuce que j’aime bien, pas nouvelle mais qui est toujours efficace, c’est les différentes couches. J’aime aussi bcp les beaux gilets long, à marier avec des pulls, des robes, des autres petits gilets.
Du Brie ! youpie ! je me disais bien qu’on en reviendrait aux vrais fondamentaux français !

It’s a good idea of your hat is too large or it’s a windy day, but I imagine that you would get a mark from the knit on your forehead, and you your have double hat head. Still, if it’s that cold, go for it.
My winter tip? Never wear thong panties with jeans when your coat does not cover your butt. Learnt that one the hard way.

My cold weather tip-I have a suede and shearling vest that I bought in Zakopane. It looks rather folksy, but it has a fur shawl collar. I wear this under my wool dress coat with the collar over top. The collar looks like its part of the coat and the vest doesn’t show. Or conversely if I’m wearing a thinner top Ill wear my leather jacket under my coat and when I go indoors ie. restaurant museum etc. I keep the leather on but ditch the coat.

1. le pantalon en cuir. C’est quand même autrement plus chaud qu’un jeans et hyper confort (on évite la sensation désagréable du collants sous le jeans), et avec un grand pull en cashmere ou même un grand gilet de grand-mère c’est sexy
2. les bottines à talons entièrement fourrées de UGG, les slippers fourrés et pailletés UGG et pour la neige bottes fourrées Aigle avec un slim ou une robe et des collants en laine
3. les chaussettes montantes sur collants: de préférence de couleurs et de couleurs assorties aux collants
4. la fourrure par petites touches : gilet sans manche, col, gants…
5. les guêtres, ça chauffe de manière hallucinante avec jeans slim (le plus chic c’est avec un new standard APC) et des derbys. Ce qui permet de mettre ses derbys toute l’année. Plus cool avec des baskets compensées…parce que quoiqu’on en dise, j’y crois encore aux baskets compensées…surtout les bobby d’Isabel Marant
6. Et enfin invisible mais tellement agréable, les semelles en laine dans les chaussures. on en trouve partout maintenant.
i know i’m a little late to this, but there’s still plenty of winter left! try a headband under a hat like this, it has the same effect of warmth but without the bulk. that way, all my hats still fit (they’re too small to wear over a toque).
my key to surviving winter is doubling up on the scarves. it makes a huuuuge difference, plus it’s fun to play around with different sizes, textures, and colours and each new combination feels like a brand new scarf.
