C’est l’heure de mon Update Instagram… !!! Vous allez en apprendre de belles (la meuf experte en teasing).
Je laisse pousser mes cheveux.
Vous ne vous en rendez peut-être pas compte, mais c’est ce qui est en train d’arriver. Je rigole bien avec mes coupes entre-deux (Chris rigole moins, j’ai un pétard sur la tête un jour sur deux). Et ce n’est pas, pour répondre à une commentatrice éplorée “please don’t fall into the grow you hair for you wedding category!!!” “S’il te plaît ne tombe pas dans la catégorie je laisse pousser mes cheveux pour mon mariage” pour laisser pousser mes cheveux pour mon mariage (ahahaha, MON MARIAGE, ça fait trop bizarre de dire ça.) c’est encore plus stupide que ça, c’est parce que mon FIANCÉ (nan mais trop bizarre) aime bien l’idée des cheveux plus longs.
Ouais. Ok. Entièrement d’accord avec vous : Peut-on juger de la liberté d’une femme Garance à la longueur de ses cheveux ? Au secours, JE NE VEUX PAS LE SAVOIR. Le fait est que j’aime bien ce retour en boucles, et qu’à trop tout intellectualiser, on ne fait plus rien, hein.
C’est encore possible que ça me soule et que je recoupe tout, hein. Libre un jour, libre toujours. ;)
J’admire les dons d’organisations des autres.
Parfois sur Instagram, je regramme, et c’est souvent quand ça me fait rêver à la fille que je ne serai jamais, celle qui est capable d’organiser sa valise comme une pro.
Sa valise ? Hein, quoi ? Je ne vous ai pas dit ? Je pars à LA !!!
Quand je parle, je fais des citations toute seule.
Tellement je suis un génie. Ahah, je rigole, mais c’est drôle à quel point, pris hors contexte, tout peut devenir une citation. Et si vous êtes comme moi, une part de vous en a marre de ces p#@&*€n de #quotes de m#&%de qu’on nous sert tous les trois Instagrams, et l’autre part les screenshote et les garde bien au chaud (voire, les envoie aux copines) parce que quand même, ça touche quelque chose au fond de nous qu’on ne saurait pas trop nommer, ces citations sur la vie.

Moi, les fiançailles, je n’y comprends rien. J’suis contente comme ça, moi, là.
Heureusement il y a des gens autour de moi pour me rappeler comment ça se passe. Nous envoyer des fleurs, des bouteilles de champagne, des félicitations. Me demander QUAND on va se marier ? Me demander OÙ ? Me demander QUELLE ROBE ? Quand est-ce que je fais ma fête de fiançailles ?

Ceci est mon livre en polonais.
Love Style Life est en train de sortir autour du monde, pour le moment en 10 langues, et c’est encore en développement. C’est assez dingue, je reçois des Instagrams des quatre coins du monde, auxquels je ne comprends rien (la seule manière que j’ai de savoir que ce ne sont pas des Instagrams d’insulte, ce sont les Emojis ahah) mais qui me touchent beaucoup.
Il faut quand même vous faire un point LA, les enfants.
Et bien voilà, on s’est exilés pour quelques semaines à LA, Chris et moi.
D’abord parce que j’avais du travail là-bas, mais aussi et avant tout pour tenter de fuir un tout petit peu l’hiver new-yorkais qui, il faut l’avouer, nous a complètement mis KO l’hiver dernier.
Et l’hiver d’avant. Et celui d’avant, aussi. Aucune cure de vitamines E ne peut remédier à l’abrutissement d’une femme et d’un homme du Sud, élevés au bord de mer dans des climats doux, quand ils doivent braver le blizzard, la neige et le froid pendant des mois entiers.
L’année dernière, pleins de bonnes intentions, on a même essayé de suivre les conseils de nos amis norvégiens et de “faire de l’hiver une fête”, en allant à la montagne le weekend pour faire du snowboard et en cuisinant des petits plats à la maison et en… Pfff on n’a pas trouvé beaucoup d’autres moyens de “faire de l’hiver une fête”, en fait. Et on a un peu fini par péter un plomb, haïr nos parkas, et même regarder nos snowboards avec un air mauvais (fait hyper froid, même à la montagne).
Donc ce janvier, LA. Je vous prépare une série de post sur la vie à LA, mais alors genre, ILLICO.
En attendant, couchers de soleil sublimes chaque jour !!! Vive la côte Ouest !

À LA, tout est healthy, et moi la première. Je mange bien et sain, je n’ai pas fumé depuis deux semaines (je ne suis pas une grosse fumeuse, mais ça m’arrive encore souvent d’en griller une avec un verre de vin), je fais du pilates à donf et quand je ne fais pas de pilates, je fais du vélo ou je cours. On cuisine à la maison tous les jours, comme dans une pub pour couple parfait.
J’ai dû boire deux verres de vin depuis mon arrivée.
Non mais vous ne comprenez pas, là. Je bois mon verre de vin tous les jours, moi. Après le boulot. C’est la vie, c’est comme ça.
Et ben à LA, non. Pas besoin. Si ça continue, 2016 va vraiment être #annéecanon (LINK TO NEW YEARS POST] – Tu parles, je vais rentrer à New York et toutes mes mauvaises habitudes, take out, bourrage de gueule quotidien et non-pilates vont revenir au galop. Shit!!! Et je vais même recommencer à dire des gros mots.

Finissons cet update par la news de la mort qui tue, Love Style Life est un New York Times Best Seller, ce qui est un peu le truc le plus cool qui puisse arriver dans la vie d’un livre et de son auteur, surtout quand on est Française et qu’on n’en croit pas ses yeux. C’est genre, le truc que je pourrais dire toute ma vie. Genre maintenant, on ne m’appelera plus Garance Doré mais New York Times Best Seller author Garance Doré, ahahah. Bon ok ça fait un peu long. Je me ferai un pins.
Je vous passe les mercis larmoyants (je réserve ça pour Instagram, beaucoup plus premier degré) mais MERCI, QUAND MÊME (larmes) et je vous embrasse sur les deux joues.

Congrats Garance! it’s really awesome to see you radiant and happy (and warm)! The ‘make winter a party’ idea made me smile. I’ve spent the past six winters on Hilton Head, extending my stay each year a few weeks longer (last year I didn’t return until the third week of April and it still was cold!). But this year, I’ve sold my apartment (ACK! After 18 years in NYC, I’m moving to my house on Hilton Head!) and have been packing stuff up, seeing friends and generally appreciating having an apartment in New York for probably the last time in my life. But damn — it’s cold and gray! I have one more month to go, but gee, I miss temperate weather, blue skies, and heavy sweaters instead of coats. I feel your pain.

Men like long hair! Of course, because it is feminine. So that’s a perfect reason. And I keep and maintain my long hair because my man loves it. If he suddenly grew a giant Duck Dynasty beard, I would not like it! So I think it is fine to be what the person you love loves.

When you had long hair, I noticed what you were wearing first, and then your beauty. With short hair, I noticed your beauty first, clothes second. Sure I want my husband to look at me and think I look great, but nothing makes a woman more appealing than when she feels amazing herself. Reread your posts from when you first cut it. Happy, happy, happy. It was a full-on love affair with your hair.
Your hair in that photo with the white duffel coat looks Gorgeous, absolutely perfect and timeless.
Men simply do not like short hair. I’m an extremely youthful looking sixty-two. I’ve had very, very, very short hair for about ten years that I bleach white. I can count on one hand the (white) men who have complemented me. However total strangers, hairdressers, women in general, and African American men and women in particular literally stop to tell me how few women can get away with the look, but that I do it beautifully. My husband of thirty-two years tells me it looks elegant…and swears he likes it…but I know he wouldn’t argue if I grew it out a little. Ain’t gonna happen…I have too many other things I rather do with my time. Getting up in the morning and giving my head a quick tussle…is a well-earned delight!

I love winter, but winter in the city is the whole other category of winters. Nothing to do with crispy air, quiet and white landscape, going for a run in the snow and coming back to a hot shower and logs burning in the chimney. Nope.

I LOVE that you are growing your hair out!! I too have gone back and forth between the sexy short hair and feminine long hair and I soo dig that you are in fact doing it for Chris! I consider myself a modern woman but see nothing wrong with wanting to please my partner! In my eyes, my style is my own, but I love wearing or doing my hair the way my boyfriend likes it. Because let’s face it, hair is such a large part of one’s look and if you have found your forever love, what’s wrong with doing something a little special or different especially for them? Same idea as dainty lingerie, a smashing red dress, or in my case growing your hair out… :)

I’ve gone from long to short to very long to crew cuts and have decided long curly hair is what I want as it is so much easier!!! Nothing wrong with listening to other people’s options on how you would like your hair.. Makes sense as people are the ones looking at your hair most of the time…

I’m Polish and a great fan of the blog and the books-so I am so excited to see the polish translation posted. And I actually decided to cut my hair inspired by your great look. And as I haven’t got used to it after 10 months, only seeing how great you look gives me hope. Honestly, from all the pictures I have googled, you are one of these very very few women who look better wearing short hair.
Leave Garance’s hair alone! She looks gorgeous whatever way she likes, and moods change as hair changes. (I should know, I just went from long to very short after 30 years of long hair and I’m single in NYC!) Speaking of being single , ANYONE dating in NYC deserves combat pay, period , and anyone who meets a great person and marries them and then wants to sweetly please them, deserves a congratulations not criticism. I love your grow out hair faze, reminds me of my Mum in the 80’s, who I thought was the most beautiful person in the world. She permed hers though, it wasn’t natural, we now both wish we had curly hair, always wanting what you can’t have….

Good luck growing your hair out. I grew mine out for me, as well as my boyfriend who likes long hair. He has helped me grow it out, he does my trims for me, so the scissor happy stylists don’t hack it all off. Once my hair got long enough to braid, I had him learn how to braid my hair for me. I love having it combed and braided for me. I feel really pampered when he does it for me, so I know I am never going to chop my hair off and give up the pampering. I wore my hair in a waterfall braided style for my wedding. And a few people asked if I was going to chop it off afterwards. I tell them there was no way that was going to happen. Why grow beautiful long hair, look great with it, then get a boring frumpy haircut and cry for months? Go for it, I’m sure you will look great with flowing tresses.
