@Sarah – hah! I just brought a couple of bars back in my « expat supplies shopping » – and was disappointed in the smell, thinking it seemed different, but told myself it was just me.
I love this soap also! But everyone else in the house hates it so I have to use it separately. They say it smells like medicine at the hospital but it relaxes me and I love how long the scent stays on my skin!
I love all the Mae West quotes lately :) Very appropriate. I also love gifting soaps for the holidays. Indulgent, yet useful- but not « practical » (because, really, no one wants to receive a practical gift).
Clear soaps are beautiful. And I can imagine how great it smells.
Have fun while bathing, now in winter every day is great for a bath. :)

Amazing blog !!!. Would you like to follow each other? My blog is abiut fashion, as I promote spanish designers in the Middle East, style and my experience as a western woman in Qatar!
so true! I use to use them when I was little and recently got one of the blue ones for my apartment and it always reminds me of my childhood days at home :)
thanks for featuring Pears… especially since, as Ursula notes, it’s now relegated to the drugstore with L’Aimant & Emeraude. though we at the dollar store deserve any luxury we can get nowadays…
right out of the package it DID smell different (and when they used to make it ‘by order of her majesty the Queen’s mother’, wasn’t it made in Britain rather than India?) but after a few washings it settled down to the more subtle aroma… which I still adore.
personally I prefer ye olde stamp on the reverse, but thanks for capturing the simple exquisiteness of it.
Preparing a relaxing bath means candles, hot water, bubbles, essencial oils, soft music,…….so to much time to practice every day. I suggest a 10 minutes massage with the massage device called Masster Plus, tme enough to relax all your muscles and daily cervical pressure. How it works? Look at the website http://www.fit4ever.es and ask for a personal demonstration.

I prefer the original Pears Soap (before Unilever changed the ingredients). The original is hard to find! *sigh*

J’adore!!!

My fave too. But in Australia, packaging does need a re-brand. Something that embodies that magical, warm, soapy aroma!

Minimalist I’ll say…they sell it at The Dollar Store here in the Midwest. :)

My mum has always made sure my siblings and I used Pears since the beginning of time!! Still use it to this day! Lovely picture Garance!!
