As we mentioned yesterday, we are taking the week to reflect back on all that we’ve done the past decade on this site as we gear up for an exciting announcement in just a few short weeks.
Today we are looking back on our history with beauty.
We have always loved to chat about all things beauty because it is so personal and expressive of each individual.
The thing we talked about the most, stressed about the most, and questioned the most was probably all things hair. From short to long, to bangs or no bangs, to scalp scrubs and dye jobs, our hair was a constant source of I-love-it-wait-I-want-to-change-it-will-I-ever-be-satisfied.
Second only to our hair dilemmas were our make-up questions. How do you master a red lip, find your perfect shade of concealer and mascara? How to master the art of no make-up, make-up and why a smokey eye is always a good idea.
Skin, skin, skin, skin, skin always was a hot topic. Do you acid? Do you sunscreen? Are you a double cleanser? What does clean beauty even mean? Should we be taking care of the skin on our necks? And what does it even mean to be comfortable in your skin?
We also always questioned what was next for beauty. Are lasers and botox really the miracle workers they’re cracked up to be? Or should we follow our grandmother’s advice of just a good moisturizer, sleep and water?
But most importantly, we always wanted to celebrate the individual beauty in everyone.
