Un des trucs que j’adore, l’été, c’est dévorer des bouquins, surtout pendant que je farniente sur la plage…
Le WE dernier, j’ai avalé d’une traite Modern Romance, d’Aziz Ansari et je le recommande vraiment, surtout si vous êtes en phase de dating. J’avais regardé son one-man show sur Netflix et bien aimé, donc quand j’ai vu le livre, je me suis dit pourquoi pas, ce sera une lecture estivale instructive pour quelqu’un qui vient de vivre une rupture et essaie de s’y retrouver dans l’univers des sites/applis de rencontres. Tous ces trucs n’existaient pas la dernière fois que je me suis retrouvée célib, donc là, il y a forcément une phase d’apprentissage… sans parler du fait que ce qu’on cherche dans une relation a ÉNORMÉMENT changé ces 50 dernières années.
J’aime le fait qu’Aziz (désolée, j’ai l’impression que c’est un ami après avoir lu son livre) a pris tout ça suffisamment au sérieux pour mener de vraies recherches et interroger plein de spécialistes. Si certaines choses m’ont paru assez évidentes (les gens se marient plus tard), il y en a qui m’ont étonnée (vous saviez que le Japon traversait une vraie crise du mariage !?). et de manière générale, je suis toujours partante pour mieux comprendre ce qui se passe dans ma vie puisque ça décrit bien la réalité de la vie des célibs, surtout dans une ville comme NY.
Peut-être que je pourrais aussi commencer à vous raconter mes aventures en matière de dating sur le blog ? Le Studio en sait déjà beaucoup trop sur ma vie sexuelle… (désolée, maman !)

I am really curious about this book! I think what is happening today in our love digital lives is fascinating!
I wonder how it will look like in the future. What is good to remembe is that when we really fall in love technology does not matter anymore!!!!
Hey why not talk about your adventures dating–as long as your comfortable with that? And I was not aware Japan is having a crisis. But also why is it a crisis if people aren’t getting married? Crisis for divorce attorneys and wedding cake makers perhaps but who else?

It’s a crisis because people are not having babies! It’s fascinating stuff, but basically what they talk about in the book is that the Japanese government is intervening in the dating lives of young Japanese people in hopes of getting the birth rate back up!

I downloaded the Kindle version of the book after reading your post, also because I love his humor and I’m dating at the moment. And I just wanted to say THANK YOU! It’s ridiculously funny (maybe also a bit sad, because those things actually happen in real life)…and helps put things on a lighter note when you’re out there doing the hardwork of (mis)interpreting texts :)
